Y.E.C.A. is proud to partner with Climate Stewards, an organization that helps us offset unavoidable carbon emissions by supporting community forestry and cookstove projects in Ghana, Kenya and Mexico. Climate Stewards is affiliated with A Rocha International, a Christian conservation organization.
In Ghana we work with schools and local communities to care for indigenous trees which not only lock up carbon, but improve livelihoods through agro-forestry and sustainable forest products, and restore local biodiversity as new forest areas are created. In Kenya, our partner Paradigm provides fuel-efficient cookstoves, water filters and solar lights; and in Mexico our partner Scolel’te supports afforestation, forest restoration and agroforestry.

Like Y.E.C.A., Climate Stewards believes that we are all called to be good stewards of God's earth, and that voluntary carbon offsetting is a great way to do this. We believe that Jesus’s command to love our neighbour gives a strong mandate to Christians to take action on climate change, which affects our global neighbours first and worst.
