Melody first got engaged with YECA as a Project Fellow, where she helped to organize conversations on earth stewardship and led various sustainability projects at her church. She recently graduated with a dual degree in Philosophy and Environmental Studies from the University of Michigan, and is passionate about the space where design, health, and the environment interact as a matter of justice and love for place and people. Upon graduation, she traveled and volunteered in Rome, Zurich, and Copenhagen and conducted an independent study in people-centered urban design.
As a student at U-M, she has served as the Communications Director for Food Recovery Network, a volunteer coordinator for Detroit Partnership, and a graphic design artist for Graham Sustainability Institute. She was also very involved in InterVarsity Christian Fellowship, serving on the leadership team and hospitality team. She lives in DC and serves as the Climate Justice campaign coordinator at Sojourners. In her free time, Melody loves to read, do yoga, and go on adventures with friends.

Facebook TwitterWe are extending this invitation to everyone on the YECA Steering Committee.
Howard Pepper and I believe that YECA could play a catalytic role in rallying 30 million #CompassionateCitizens by Election Day, 2020.
We believe that 30 million is critical mass for empowering a #WiserDemocracy in the U.S., which would radically expedite #EquityForALL, across issue arenas from #EducationalEquity to #CreationCare.
.
We only very recently discovered YECA. We were (and still are) exploring a collaboration with John Morehead, who leads the Evangelical Chapter of the Foundation for Religious Dipomacy (FRD).
FRD’s work in promoting multi-faith dialogue complements our #WiserDemocracy mission (which I define as “the political empowerment our collective wisdom and compassion, via respectful dialogue-across-diversity”).
The simplest Story about the fledgling #CompassionateCitizens movement is on our website (CompassionateCitizens dot US), but a far deeper dive into our plan to unite myriad “silos of compassion” is in my last LinkedIn article (Embracing and Empowering Compassion).
[Please connect with us on LinkedIn, Facebook and Twitter.]
We look forward to beginning a conversation and collaboration!
Compassionately,
Norlyn Dimmitt, FSA
