Elysia Moy
Gordon College

fullsizeoutput_1b6b.jpegElysia Moy is a junior at Gordon College, located just north of Boston. She majors in Christian Ministries and Biblical Studies and minors in Sustainable Development. Growing up in the Boston area, she had little to no affinity for spending time outdoors. When she came to Christ in middle school, that was the same time she went hiking to experience God’s creation for the first time with her youth group. Since then, Elysia has been learning from day to day what it means and what it looks like to live for Christ and to be His witness.

Passionate about God’s people across all languages and cultures, she began to see time and time again how climate change affects the livelihood of those who have little in developing countries. Loving God means loving these people. Loving these people means advocating for their justice. Convicted by the reality of the climate crisis and its tragic impacts on the least-responsible people, she desires to see systemic changes in reducing carbon emissions. Her goals for the Climate Leadership Fellowship is to engage her college’s sustainability council with the national conversation on meaningful climate policy changes as a witness to the surrounding and international community that Christians support climate action. In her free time, she enjoys studying Scripture, catching up with family and friends, exploring new places (whether it’s the new library in town or a country she has never been to), and taking slow walks in nature.
