2019-2020 Fellows

Nahlia Yefet
UC Davis

fullsizeoutput_2db1.jpegNahlia is a junior at University of California, Davis. She is studying Evolution, Ecology, and Biodiversity with the hope of doing conservation biology in the future. With a former park ranger for a grandfather, Nahlia grew up loving the outdoors, being surrounded by it, and learning about all the wildlife that resides in it. In college, Nahlia began connecting her faith with the natural world around her. As a sophomore, she led a small group for STEM students to help them connect their faith and science.
For this fellowship, Nahlia is working closely with her home church, Modesto Covenant Church to help them realize and act on God's call for us to be stewards of this earth. She hopes to accomplish this by starting a recycling program at her church, and later on, other covenant churches in the area. She is also working towards getting her church to invest in solar panels for a more environmentally conscious approach to stewardship. Nahlia hopes to show her church how to better love their neighbors by loving the environment the all share.
