Y.E.C.A. would like to congratulate Kyle Meyaard-Schaap on becoming our new National Organizer and Spokesperson! Before coming on staff at Y.E.C.A., Kyle served for four years as the Creation Care Coordinator at the Office of Social Justice for the Christian Reformed Church in North America. In this role, Kyle worked to educate and equip individuals and congregations to learn and act at the intersection of creation care and Christian faith. Much of his professional experience has involved the integration of theology, science, and action toward deeper awareness of our Christian responsibility to care for God's earth and to love our neighbors, both at home and around the world.

Congratulations to the 2015-'16 Congolese Climate Leadership Fellows!

Our 2015-’16 Congolese Climate Leadership Fellows have finished another academic year and we want to celebrate their dedication, hard work, and testimonies of transformation. The Climate Leadership Fellowship is a selective program for university students through which we aim to train and equip new Christian leaders to promote a biblical understanding of and response to the climate crisis on their campuses, in their churches, and in their communities.

Y.E.C.A. Advises During 2016 IDEA Generators Conference

Rachel Lamb and Kaleb Nyquist, two of our leaders at Young Evangelicals for Climate Action, recently participated in the inaugural Interfaith Dialogue and Entrepreneurial Activity (IDEA) Generators Conference in Chicago. The three-day IDEA Generators conference took place over Memorial Day weekend, and participants spent that time ideating, developing, and pitching projects designed to address environmental sustainability through interfaith partnerships.

Congratulations to the 2015-'16 U.S. Climate Leadership Fellows!

As our 2015-’16 cohort of Climate Leadership Fellows finish their academic years and their Y.E.C.A. fellowships, we want to celebrate their dedication, hard work, and testimonies of transformation. The Climate Leadership Fellowship is a selective program for college students that begins with a training retreat in August and runs until April. Through the fellowship program, we aim to train and equip new Christian leaders to promote a biblical understanding of and response to the climate crisis on campuses and in churches and communities nationwide.
